The Long-Awaited Warm Homes Plan
We’re pleased to see Quantum Training referenced in the UK Government’s Warm Homes Plan (page 135), which sets out a major national programme to improve home energy efficiency and accelerate the transition to low-carbon housing across the UK. This recognition reinforces our long-term strategy of supporting emissions reduction and decarbonisation through education, practical training environments, and the development of a competent, skilled workforce.
With a £15 billion commitment to upgrading homes through improved insulation, solar technologies, battery storage and low-carbon heating, the Warm Homes Plan represents a significant step forward for retrofit and sustainability. Its ambition to reduce energy bills, address fuel poverty and make energy-efficient solutions more accessible marks an important shift from aspiration to action.
Crucially, the plan recognises that delivery at scale will depend not only on investment, but on practical skills, effective coordination and strong local partnerships between training providers, employers and supply chains. This is exactly where Quantum’s hands-on training facilities and industry expertise play a vital role.
Amid growing concerns across the sector about inexperienced installers entering the retrofit market, the need for high-quality training and robust standards has never been clearer. With the right facilities, guidance and practical learning environments, we can ensure that the demand generated by initiatives like the Warm Homes Plan translates into safe, competent and high-quality retrofit work.
