LCL Awards

We are delighted to provide a range of renewable energy training courses for experienced installers, heating and plumbing engineers that wish to upskill to meet the latest renewable demands for clients and businesses to adapt to the current Government targets to help reach ‘net zero’.

Consumers are wanting to do their bit to save money and our planet; what with energy bills rising and the latest Government funding incentives for BUS (Boiler Upgrade Scheme) and 0% VAT, more homeowners and businesses are looking for sustainable solutions to move away from fossil fuels.

Our courses are LCL Awarded; Level 3 in the Installation and Maintenance of Air Source Heat Pump Systems, Low Temperature and Hot Water Systems in Dwellings and WRAS Water Regulations. Please note our Solar Thermal, Solar PV and Battery Storage Courses will be launching soon!

LCL Awards Level 3 Award in the Installation and Maintenance of Air Source Heat Pumps Systems (non-refrigerant circuits)
3 Days £525 ex VAT

Course Background
This qualification has been updated in association with the Heat Pump Association and MCS and has been designed for learners from a heating background to demonstrate their knowledge in the Installation and Maintenance of Air Source Heat Pump systems to achieve a nationally recognised qualification. This is for the purpose of membership retention to the Microgeneration Certification Scheme (MCS) upon successful completion of the course.

You can learn more about MCS certification by clicking here.

Please note

For those looking to become MCS registered for the installation only of heat pumps, you will need to hold the WRAS Water Requlations qualification. We offer this course, for further information please click here (hyperlike to the WRAS course outline).

If you apply for MCS registration for install only of heat pumps you will be required to demonstrate that you have a contract in place with a qualified design engineer who must also be MCS registered as a designer of heat pump systems. Quantum Group can produce a contract for you with one of our designers. Please contact our Sales Team to find out more – sales@thequantumgroup.uk.com

For MCS registration for the Installation and Design of Heat Pumps, learners will need to hold the LCL Awards Levels 3 in Low Temperature Heating and Hot Water Systems in Dwellings. Again we offer this course, please click here for further information (hyperlink the Low Temp Course outline).

Candidates will need to meet the minimum qualification and experience requirements as outlined in the pre-requisites section on our booking form.

Learner Outcomes
The learner will cover:

  • The learner will know the preparatory work required for the installation of an air source heat pump.
  • The learner will know the common requirements for the installation of an air source heat pump connected to hydraulic emitter circuits.
  • The learner will install heat pump units (non-refrigeration units).
  • The learner will test and commission an air source heat pump system (non-refrigerant circuits).
  • The learner will be able to undertake the non-refrigerant circuit routine service and maintenance of an air source heat pump system (non-refrigerant circuits).
